Food and Drink

Dining at the Castle truly is a special occasion, welcoming both public and hotel guests. Our 1851 Restaurant offers one of the region’s most exquisite experiences as holder of three AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award. Alternatively the more informal and cosmopolitan 2010 Brasserie, located in the former scullery of the Castle, features many of the amazing features of the original kitchen including two cast iron cooking ranges dating back to the 1840's.

Fine Dining

The 1851 Restaurant offers a very special dining experience, featuring classical French and modern British cuisine, the menus are brimming with fine dining options, some classic with a modern twist and others as full of imagination as they are of flavour. Holder of 3 AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award, the 1851 Restaurant treats diners and guests of The Castle to a gastronomic extravaganza featuring carefully selected, locally grown and reared produce, hand picked by the Head Chef Mark Ellis to best reflect the season and the region. Informal Meals

Alternatively the more informal and cosmopolitan 2010 Brasserie, located in the former scullery of the castle, which features many of the amazing features of the original kitchen. The extensive menu offers light meals such as paninis, classic and modern sandwiches and soup to more filling offerings such as fish and chips and Braised local beef. Our knights and maidens menu, designed by local schoolchildren, is also a hit with the younger guests. The courtyard adjoining the Brasserie compliments with additional space and offers a modern al fresco dining experience.

Medieval Banquets

Give your family and friends an unforgettable evening by inviting them to a medieval banquet set in the heart of Peckforton Castle.

The decor of our Great Hall provides the perfect setting: a carved screen, a magnificent fireplace, tapestries on the walls – even a musician's gallery. The Hexagonal Dining Room is also available to host these events, which can provide the jewel in the crown of any wedding, private party or corporate event.

These events are fully themed to complete the effect. All our food uses traditional recipes and is served on locally made pottery.
